About Me

I'm in the midst of a career change. That means I have one foot in academia and one foot in the next stage. I keep returning to marketing communications as an option, but I also am still applying for jobs in academia.

In the meantime, I'm working on a manuscript for Rodopi based on my dissertation but with no commitment yet to publish.

I'm excited about my future and looking forward to my prospects.

Prospects are based on background.

Throughout my education, I have continually sought out innovative topics and ways to express ideas. In my Bachelor at University of Regina, I convinced the Professor of my German history course to accept a puppet play in lieu of a research essay. The personal investment in that project far outweighed any effort I might have put into an essay. As a result, I learned a great deal more and have never forgot that class.

At the University of Waterloo, I sought out my M.A. thesis topic on German author's Ulf Miehe's Ich hab' noch einen Toten in Berlin. The book's complex interweaving of intermedial reference in addition to the back history of the book was fascinating for me. It was also what initiated my interest in media studies.

My latest and final degree from McGill was another opportunity for me to determine my own course. My project was on the motif of the dynamic plant in early 20th century literature, time-lapse films, and other visual media. Although after successfully defending it at the end of March 2014, I needed to take a break, I still find the topic fascinating.
